Sadly, Sudan the last surviving male Northern White Rhino died yesterday 20.03.2018, at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. He was 45 years old- a grand old age for this subspecies! He leaves behind, Najin & Fatou as the last two females. The preservation of the sub-species now relies on IVF using eggs from the remaining females, stored semen from Northern White males, and surrogate Southern White females. We all appreciate the Ol Pejeta Conservancy team, Scientists, Vetrinary Doctors team, Kenya Wildlife Service, & Conservation Partners for their valiant efforts.
